The Council has a statutory responsibility to administer the provisions of the Building Act 2004 within prescribed time limits.
Responsibilities include processing applications for building consents, enforcing the provisions of the building code and regulations, processing applications for code compliance certificates, issuing compliance schedules and issuing project information memoranda.
