Eastern Hutt Road rail bridge repairs – expect delays

After train services between Upper Hutt and Wellington were disrupted due to an incident at the Eastern Hutt Road rail bridge near Silverstream yesterday, repair work is now being undertaken by NZ Rail. Akatarawa Road now open to through traffic

Akatarawa Road was briefly closed due to a vehicle becoming stuck on the Upper Hutt side of the summit. All properties (including Staglands Wildlife Reserve) on the Upper Hutt side of the summit were still accessible from Upper Hutt. The road is now open to through traffic. Read more »
