Consultation on the Annual Plan 2017 – 2018 (year three of the Long Term Plan 2015 – 2025) opened on 22 March and closed at 5pm, 28 April 2017.
The key objective of the Consultation Document is to describe proposed changes to the Long Term Plan, to outline three new proposed projects for 2017 – 2018, and to describe a proposed policy amendment.
What is an Annual Plan and why do we have it?
The Local Government Act 2002 requires every territorial authority to produce an Annual Plan. The plan provides a platform for the year’s strategy, investment, and development. It also provides a platform for community engagement to ensure that the decisions and activities included continue to create a community that the people want.
Upper Hutt produces an Annual Plan which is guided by the city vision and outlines Council’s commitment to it through investment, ongoing activity, and projects. It is also guided by Councils commitment to the current Long Term Plan which covers a period of ten years and is re-evaluated every three years. The Long Term Plan always incorporates the Annual Plan of its first year of adoption.
Council’s activity areas are monitored by performance measures and targets. These are reported on via quarterly reports, which make up the Annual Report.
