Upper Hutt’s H2O Xtream celebrates its 20th birthday

H2O Xtream is celebrating its 20th birthday for the month of December with events for all ages.

UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 06 DEC 2016—H2O Xtream is 20 on 12 December 2016 and we are celebrating the milestone for the month of December, with a range of events to cater for all of our pool users.

The celebrations kicked off last Saturday with a TeenWave event for kids aged 8 – 13.

This Thursday (8 December), H2O Xtream will host Xtream Toddler Time from 9.00 – 11.00 am. This event is for under 5 year-olds and will include guest appearances from Santa and his Elf, Kev the Kiwi, a mermaid, and a giant duck.

“On Monday 12th December, along with Mayor Wayne Guppy, we will be celebrating, and honouring our long-standing customers who have been with us from the very beginning,” says Council’s Recreation Services Manager, Rachel Jury. “All our customers have made a huge contribution to the H2O Xtream success story!”

A special Wavebreaker’s Pool Party for the centre’s learn-to-swim customers will be held on Saturday 17 December, from 11.00 am – 1.00 pm.

The festivities will culminate in the 20th Birthday Pool Party on Sunday 18 December, from 11.00 am – 3.00 pm. This event is open to all ages at 1996 prices—$2 per person and free slides.

“We’ve also managed to source our original uniform from when we first opened as the Upper Hutt Leisure Centre,” says Ms Jury. “Staff will be modelling these purple gems from 10 December.”

New pool toys will be arriving throughout the month, including a brand new Aqua Run inflatable. The original Aqua Run was the facility’s first inflatable, having made the move from Upper Hutt’s previous outdoor Maidstone Pool complex.
