Plateau School crowned Top School in Upper Hutt

Plateau School win Top School event with 10 children, teachers, and adults competing in fun games and activities.

UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 15 mar 2018—Plateau School is now also ‘Top School’ after winning last night’s event at Harcourt Park.

Ten Upper Hutt primary schools took part in The Gas Hub’s Top School at Harcourt Park on Wednesday 14 March. The evening involved a series of superhero-themed tabloid team games. Each team consisted of 5 students, 2 teachers, and 3 parents. Supporters of each school also came dressed in theme, and encouraged their schools with some great supporting chants.

Top School has now been running for 3 years. Organisers expect to be continuing the event in 2019.

“This is a great inter-school event that the whole school community can get involved in, and it’s fantastic to see parents, teachers and students, all working together and having a great time,” says Council’s Recreation Advisor, David King. “We’re also really grateful for the sponsorship from The Gas Hub, who not only support our Parks and Places programme, but also volunteer staff to help the Top School event to run smoothly.”
