Upper Hutt’s H²O Xtream aquatic centre continues to be recognised for safety

H²O Xtream has once again been awarded the PoolSafe accreditation from New Zealand Recreation Association and Water Safety New Zealand.

UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 03 MAY 2018—H²O Xtream aquatic centre is committed to providing a high standard of safety. The facility has maintained its PoolSafe accreditation, ensuring that systems and procedures meet industry standards. All areas of the Council-run facility were tested, including lifeguard qualifications, supervision of all areas of water, emergency action plans, child supervision, risk management, health and safety management processes, and water testing.

“This is the 16th year that our team has been awarded the PoolSafe accreditation,” says Kristin Raynes, Assistant Manager of Operations. “It’s indicative of our high standards and the hard work our staff put in to providing a safe aquatic facility for our community.”

The PoolSafe Quality Management Scheme (PoolSafe) is an independent assessment of public pools to ensure that their operations and facilities are safe. PoolSafe is an industry-led voluntary management system that enables peer to peer assessment and moderates the delivery of public aquatic facilities’ services, with the direct intent to provide a safe aquatic experience for their communities.
