Council works in partnership with its city centre retailers to help promote our city as a destination for shopping, entertainment and events. Through a dedicated liaison, Council meets regularly with these retailers and coordinates joint activities to increase foot-traffic in our city centre and encourage patronage of our local stores.

The key areas of focus for Council’s city centre promotions include:

  • the coordinated management of the city centre
  • business liaison, coordination and communication
  • management of city centre events
  • promotion of the city centre
  • representing the interests of the city centre across all Council decisions.
