In Upper Hutt we pride ourselves on celebrating our community through a variety of awards, they include:

Upper Hutt City Young Achiever Awards (Youth Civic Awards)

Each year Upper Hutt City Council hosts the Upper Hutt City Young Achievers Awards to recognise the accomplishments of local inspiring young people. Past nominees for the awards include young people who have produced and directed plays, supported and mentored other young people, represented New Zealand in sport, and young people who have overcome major personal challenges.

Civic Awards

These awards are designed to recognise a person who has carried out meritorious voluntary community service for the City of Upper Hutt. It is likely, but not essential, that this community service will be in one of the fields of welfare, youth or aged services, community education, cultural activities or sport and recreation administration.
